Treatment of hyperholidity

Sweating is a physiological phenomenon that acts as a defense mechanism for the body that regulates body temperature. Sweat glands are located practically all over the body, but are most numerous in the armpits, hands, soles of the feet and forehead. It happens that the activity of the sweat glands is not always associated with heat, exercise or stress and causes discomfort.

The use of botulinum toxin helps in the fight against the problem of hyperhidrosis. Botulinum toxin blocks the conduction of nerve impulses sent to the sweat glands. When the glands are not stimulated, sweat is not released. Just one treatment can significantly reduce sweating of a selected body area.

Treatment with botulinum toxin is always preceded by a thorough interview conducted by an aesthetic medicine doctor. The doctor decides which dose of the substance to choose for the needs of a specific therapy, depending on the individual patient’s circumstances. Botox is introduced via a micro-needle into the muscles located just below the skin.

The effect of the treatment appears very quickly (up to 7 days from its performance) and lasts for several or even several months. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
